Pakistan's do-or-die match delivers drama as Farhan scores historic century against Namibia!

Sahibzada Farhan century celebration Pakistan vs Namibia T20 World Cup 2026 Colombo

February 18, 2026. The T20 World Cup 2026 group stage is reaching its dramatic conclusion. And today has delivered everything cricket fans could ask for.

Pakistan posted 199 for 3 against Namibia in a must-win match in Colombo — powered by a historic maiden T20I century from Sahibzada Farhan. South Africa crushed UAE by 6 wickets in Delhi to confirm their place at the top of Group D. And tonight — India face Netherlands in Ahmedabad with an unbeaten record on the line.

Here is everything you need to know from The Yorker Crew.

Pakistan vs Namibia — Farhan's Historic Century

This was do-or-die for Pakistan. Win and they qualify for the Super Eights. Lose and their T20 World Cup 2026 campaign is over.

Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. And what followed was one of the most important innings in recent Pakistan cricket history.

Sahibzada Farhan scored 100 not out off 58 balls — his maiden T20I century and only the second century ever scored by a Pakistani batter at a T20 World Cup. The only other Pakistani to achieve this feat was Ahmed Shehzad back in 2014.

Farhan was brilliant. Aggressive from the start, elegant through the covers, and brutal against anything short. He built Pakistan's innings with composure and finished it with power. Shadab Khan contributed an unbeaten 29 at the death to push Pakistan to 199 for 3 after 20 overs.

🏏 Pakistan Innings — 199/3 (20 Overs)

Batter R B 4s 6s SR Dismissal
Sahibzada Farhan ⭐ Historic 💯 100* 58 172.41 not out
Shadab Khan 29* not out
Others 3 wickets
Total 199/3 (20 Overs) | RR: 9.95

This is a massive total at R. Premadasa Stadium. Namibia now need 200 to win to keep their own World Cup dreams alive — and to eliminate Pakistan from the tournament. The chase is on.

South Africa vs UAE — Proteas Cruise to Victory

In Delhi, South Africa confirmed their position at the top of Group D with a dominant 6-wicket win over UAE.

South Africa won the toss and chose to bowl first — a decision that paid off immediately. UAE were restricted to just 122 for 6 in their 20 overs — never able to build momentum against a disciplined South African bowling attack.

The chase was never in doubt. South Africa reached the target with 6 wickets and 40 balls remaining — Dewald Brevis playing some powerful shots to finish the job quickly.

South Africa now sit at the top of Group D with 8 points — confirmed in the Super Eights and looking like genuine contenders for the title.

India vs Netherlands — Tonight in Ahmedabad

Later tonight at 7:00 PM IST, India face Netherlands at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

India have already qualified for the Super Eights with an unbeaten group stage record. Jasprit Bumrah is confirmed to play — no rest for India's best bowler despite qualification already being secured.

Netherlands will be hoping to cause an upset — but India are overwhelming favorites. A win tonight keeps India's perfect record intact heading into the Super Eights.

Super Eights Qualification Picture

As of February 18th, seven teams have confirmed their Super Eights spots — India, West Indies, South Africa, England, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Zimbabwe.

One spot remains. Pakistan are fighting for it tonight against Namibia. If Pakistan win — they qualify. If Namibia win — the USA could sneak through depending on net run rate calculations.

Australia — one of the pre-tournament favorites — have already been eliminated. A dismal campaign that has been heavily criticized by legends including Ricky Ponting.

Group A Standings (Latest)

  1. India — 6 points, qualified, NRR +3.05
  2. USA — 4 points, 2 wins, NRR +0.787
  3. Pakistan — 4 points, 2 wins, NRR -0.403 (will improve if they beat Namibia)
  4. Netherlands — 2 points, 1 win
  5. Namibia — 0 points, 0 wins

Final Word

Sahibzada Farhan has given Pakistan a fighting chance with a historic century. Namibia now need to chase 200 — a massive ask on this pitch. If Pakistan's bowlers fire — they are through to the Super Eights.

Tonight — India look to maintain their perfect record against Netherlands.

The T20 World Cup 2026 group stage is reaching its dramatic conclusion. Every match matters. Every run counts.
